here i am

here i am..
new “place”.. new challenges.. new life ( i hope). yet, in some cases this country is not changing.. seems similar when i left 1.5 years ago.. the wind.. the weather.. the yellow train.. the strippen kart.. the bus.. the food.. the spa blauw.. the coffee.. the bike.. the people.. the patat-met-mayo.. the procedures.. etc. i also entered my former apartment.. which still has same smell.. same ”spirit”.. and suddenly, the memories appeared.. gossh..

for sure.. it’s the old place with new life.. and i have to make it different with the previous ones. and after all these years.. i still could not find what-so-called ”home”, i wish (i hope) i can find it here.

saya merasa..
di antara semua kesulitan-kesulitan yang Ia berikan, dimana tidak semua orang mendapatkannya, Ia memberikan kemudahan-kemudahan yang juga… ternyata tidak semua orang dapat memilikinya. mungkin inilah keadilan versi-Nya dan tidak semua orang dapat memahaminya.. termasuk saya.

penyakit lama..

sudah lama tidak ngobrol dengan sahabat yang satu ini, apalagi ketemu. pegawai salah satu kedutaan besar negara sahabat yang berlokasi di pusat jakarta ini, ternyata masih bermasalah dengan ‘penyakit’ nya dahulu. sebut saja dia mba w, gadis hitam manis asal dari bandung, pertama kali menjejakan kakinya di kedutaan negara sahabat itu beberapa bulan yang lalu. melalui telepon nir-kabel, akhirnya percakapan dodol itu dimulai.

Sting sings for the environment

Moscow, Russia – As part of his Broken Music Tour in Russia, British musician Sting is singing for forest conservation.

The former Police lead singer and distinguished solo artist will contribute part of the proceeds from his Moscow concert to WWF-Russia’s Plant Your Forest for Life Programme, which works to restore unique pine forests in Siberia’s Altai region.

The Altai region is a mosaic of coniferous forests and alpine meadows, hosting a rich degree of biodiversity. However, forest clearance, fires, mining, over-grazing and over-hunting are seriously threatening the region’s forests.

“Sting has long been involved with several causes, including fighting poverty and rainforest preservation,” said WWF-Russia’s Forest Programme Director Elena Kulikova.

“It is very important for us that Sting focuses his attention on Russia’s forests, which are an integral part of the country’s natural heritage.

In addition to supporting WWF, Sting has worked with other non-profit organizations such as Nordoff Robbins, Walden Woods, The Rainforest Foundation, Amnesty International and others.

This is Sting’s third visit to Russia, part of WWF’s Stars for a Living Planet. Other popular musicians who have contributed their time and efforts include Valery Syutkin (Russia), Cesaria Evora (Cape Verde) and John Scofield (US).

The Broken Music Tour is in Russia for shows in St Petersburg on July 24 and Moscow on July 26. The Moscow concert is organized and sponsored by Alfa Bank, WWF-Russia’s corporate partner since 2001.

semangat untuk hidup

beberapa minggu ini.. setiap berangkat ke kantor, saya selalu melewati jalan yang sama. angkot 12 membawa saya melewati sebuah sekolah dasar. tapi.. bukan.. bukan anak-anak sd-nya yang membuat saya tertarik, namun para penjual jajanan yang ada di depan sekolah itu.

melihat penampakan fisik mereka, mereka pasti sangatlah muda. dibawah 30 pastinya. setiap pagi, mereka sudah menyiapkan semua peralatan, mulai dari gerobak, minyak goreng, bahan-bahan pembuat jajanan, dan masih banyak lagi. mulai dari tukang martabak mini, gorengan, kue pancong, es lilin, susu murni, dan masih banyak lagi. yang pasti, semua selalu ceria. setiap kali saya melewati sekolah itu, mereka tampak bersemangat sekali melayani anak-anak sd itu. tak jarang, mereka saling meledek satu sama lain dan tak lama tawa pun meledak.
